The Roofs of Berlin

IMG_7883 copy

Four months ago I was sitting in this place for the first time and overlooking Berlin. I knew it is a perfect city to live in for me. Something in between my life in London and Lithuania. Not only it is actually in the middle and closer to both cities I care about, but it has the right atmosphere. That crazy and international London vibe, mixed with a bit more natural and slower lifestyle, which we have in Lithuania.

I know you know I am happy here and I cannot tell you how grateful I am I was able to decide where to live when changing the countries. This move was one of the most spontaneous things I've ever done in my life. Despite the fact, I am honestly thankful to everyone, who helped and are helping me to settle here, to feel safe, to meet their friends and friends of friends and overall - to feel better and better every single day now, so I have to use this opportunity and do all the best I can now.

I am telling you, go out there! There is a lot more to experience and even if I feel this is the right city, you never know where your life can bring you. Do what feels right and be up for crazy big changes. That is an unbelievable experience. And you know, what? The right time is now.

Was out and about with my new friends in Klunkerkranich (Neukölln, Berlin). But about new friends, friends of friends and how do I meet them - next time.

Enjoy looking at the roofs of Berlin.

A.

New home. Berlin.

After ages of consideration and many changes, I'm back. Almost one year later I can say, this was an intense year. I've graduated from the university, worked for a young and busy start-up, felt in love, travelled a bit, got tired of London and have decided to make a big change.

Actually, even before making that big change, I was standing on the crossroad of my life and was considering to either follow the same road or to spice up the things a little and to jump out of my comfort zone. This felt right, as there was nothing too big keeping me attached to London and three years seemed more than enough, so the day has come. Visiting Berlin for the sixth time, I realised how right it feels to be here.

I call this place home for one month and a half already, and so I can only confirm the fact. It feels right. It is more relaxed, more natural and always alive. This city is charming. And even though you wouldn't expect to see the photos like this on a tourist's camera visiting Berlin - that is exactly what I want you to feel. The real vibe of Berlin and my life in Berlin.

Pure perfection | mood board

whiie whhite whitee wwhite whitte whiitee whiite
Spending too much time while trying to create a perfect Instagram feed.
Drinking too much coffee.
Wasting my time while telling people how busy I am, instead of putting my energy into new projects.

At least I know that now.

People say blogging - is the way to show where about you are in your life, how do you think today, where are your inspirations coming from & what project you are working on. Let's try one more time.

Here is my mood board (our), (will introduce people I am working with soon) as well as my new projects.

Sunday story

happyme This post pretty much sums up everything I want to tell you. Messy hair, huge backpack, favourite shoes, optimism, new places, canal, urban background and photos. This is what my life is all about at the moment. The only things that are missing, are my laptop and my phone. But hey, it's Sunday morning! I am more than busy these days, though as you can see (especially in the first photo, which is probably the most natural photo of me ever) - happily busy !

And I was so happy to wake up earlier than usual today, see the sun rising and meeting my friend for a Sunday breakfast by the canal. Some of you follow me on instagram (won't lie, my daily addiction) and see my photos from the places I go to.  Oh how happy I am, getting to know so many hippie coffee shops, bars, restaurants, galleries and boutiques. Keep falling in love with London every single day now. Yes, every single day.

As my favorite colour these days is black, the photos I did today are surprisingly colourful! Maybe too colourful, cheerful and positive, though I hope some of you like it! The message I want to send you today is very simple. Even though you're tired and busy (as most of us are these days), don't forget to take everything you can from your life. Explore your own city, go to the galleries, drink coffee at your favourite place, draw, read, write, be the observer and the most important thing - learn (i know this is obvious and you know it, but someone had to remind you that)! Learn something new at least once per day. And laugh. Yes, laugh.

Oh, and follow me on social media (for my daily thoughts and photos) as I cannot say when the next post is coming (fingers crossed - soon).

Urban life | Barbican Centre

fallpatterns

Hello,

I won't even start telling how much do I love autumn. Oh yes, I am one of those crazy people, who believe that September 1st is the beginning of a new era. Autumn inspires to focus on your future and to come back to routine, which I actually like. The more you do, the less time you waste. Isn't it true?

Talking about the routine and focussing...  I got a new job (which I was dreaming about to have during my studies), started to go to the new gym, cannot stop counting last days till my start of the final year at university. Yeah, that's pretty much it, though I am trying to stay focused and be inspired as I wrote here before, so persuaded my best friend to go to one of those exhibitions held at the Barbican centre. I don't even remember if I mentioned it somewhere before, though oh believe me, how much do I love this place. I am not even telling about that magical surrounding where you can hide from the busy city of London. All the exhibitions that were held in Barbican so far were the best ones that I have ever seen in my life. They always have something very interesting to offer. And it is not only about art itself anymore it is about being informed in an interesting way as they let you to be a part of it. This particular exhibition is called 'Digital Revolution' (unfortunately it is until September 14th only, so hurry up people in London!) .  This immersive and interactive exhibition brings many filmmakers, designers, musicians, architects and game developers all pushing the boundaries of their fields using digital media.  I was trying to do some nice photos, unfortunately it was almost a mission impossible as you can experience it only there. Though I am sharing you my favorite look that I have chosen for this day (ages since my last one, isn't it?) and few black and white photos that I made here. Back to routine, back to life, back to writing! Fingers crossed I can share some nice photos and thoughts very very soon! Optimistic greetings!

the price of creativity | being a sponge

barbican
Once you decide about your career choice, you have to be sure and passionate about it. Despite the fact we usually change our minds about the decisions we make during the process, we have to do the best we can and to focus. For ourselves.

I believe you are a creative person. And you know what is the best part about it? You have to be always creative, however, you can never turn off. Ever.

"Be interested. Watch everything, read everything, listen to everything, eat, sleep, smell everything - be a sponge. Don't edit your life. Don't be a culture snob." - Flo Heiss (Creative Director | Dare, London)

Commitment. I believe this is the part which we are missing during the process of work. These days people tend to commit only when it comes to relationship. However, you don't leave a person after every single sad or hard moment. You try to find the solutions, to understand your mistakes and to move on. The exactly same thing we should do while working. This type of commitment does not necessarily spark fear, though it most definitely sparks laziness. Is it the right choice? Am I in the right place? The headache of most young creatives these days. However, once you get too interested in other areas, the field of your interest doesn't reach the highest level. Focus.

"Creativity is like a library. If you keep taking books out and don't put any in, you eventually won't have any books left." - Siimon Reynolds.

Be interested. Be curious. Commit and focus.
