I always used to like to have some time alone. And I still do, sometimes. Especially, if I am in one of my favorite places. With my camera.
Notting Hill. Hands down, it is the best area in London for me. It is c l e a n, quiet and so beautiful. The living area is white and cozy, while the famous Portobello road is full of colors and happiness.
As you can expect more and more posts about this place, this time I can introduce you to the colorful side of Notting Hill. If you start walking down through Portobello road, you will definitely notice loads of colorful houses and small vintage shops. It is a h e a v e n. Ok, if you are a vintage lover you have to go there. Cause, you know, Notting Hill, on the whole is like an elegant place with some bohemian vibes. I could probably talk ant talk talk about this place..oh well. So, as I have mentioned you have to check all the shops around, they are amazing! Don't be lazy, go further and you are going to reach even more nicer shops and cafes, vegetarian restaurants, very stylish and cozy bakeries. It is an amazing place for creatives. All the bakeries are well equipped an they have amazing logos. Such an i n s p i r a t i o n. And you know, this time I wasn't lazy and I reached the very end of Portobello road and I found ....A C K L A M V I L L A G E
I remember I was riding a bike with my best friend somewhere around this place. I saw it and I thought "oh, ok it's not a typical place for my lovely Notting Hill, I have to come back and to check." But as the time is flying, I absolutely forgot it! Feel so lucky because of my Sunday discovery. So it seems like, even a Notting Hill has a place for London's hipsters. It is like a very very small Shoreditch inside this quiet area. And so, Acklam Village, is a place, where you can get some food and at the end, you will definitely find a live music bar T H E D E N. I went there, I sat there and enjoyed my time while listening to "Nick and the Sun Machine" (this is one more discovery for my Sunday). This is a very cozy place, colorful and has some kind of chill mood, which you can feel from the very first time when you enter the "doors" (as I've noticed there were curtains instead of the doors?). You can see some small details from this bar in my photos, but believe me, once you're in London, you have to go to Notting Hill and reach the very end of Portobello road.
Have a G R E A T week,
Auste
